Terms and Safety

Marking – Signaling

Do not violate the warning and prohibition signs posted in the ski center that warn of upcoming dangers and above all never enter a piste, path or route marked “closed”. Consult the signs and never attempt to descend on unknown slopes, in forests, between the pillars.

The demarcation of our pistes has been done with signs, placed around the pistes, where the number, name, direction and degree of difficulty of the piste are marked through the corresponding color. Beginner learning platforms are considered green pistes. Those marked as blue are trucks with a slope of up to 25%, as red are those with a slope of up to 45%, as black are those with a slope of more than 45%.

Always follow the directional signs, consult the demarcation and skier marking signs and always stay within the demarcated area of the ski resort. Never bypass safety measures such as prohibitory signs, safety nets, hazard stakes and blocking ropes.

Apart from the marked open pistes, our center, although always willing to rescue, bears no responsibility in case of any accident.

Rescue

The rescue team is made up of experienced pisters – trauma carriers, who take care of the control and safe operation of the pistes every day, the observance of the rules of ski traffic, the care of accidents and the general mountain rescue in the center. The pisters constantly check the center’s open tracks. The last check is carried out right after the lifts close, so make sure you are always consistent with the centre’s opening hours. All accidents are transported safely to the center’s medical center, where they are treated by the medical staff, while emergencies are transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital in the area upon medical order.

Obedience to the instructions of the pisters is an obligation for every ski resort, while disobedience is a misdemeanor, because this is the only way to support the safe operation of the pistes and to avoid possible injuries. When on the slopes make sure you always follow the 10 FIS skiing rules and ski safely with respect for yourself and other skiers. In the event of an accident, report the incident as soon as possible to a pister or to the nearest lift station or doctor’s office or call 2332102025 immediately.

Avalanches

Avalanches are not a frequent and dangerous phenomenon for Greek ski resorts. However, the rapid spread of off-piste skiing worldwide should make us more aware of the dangers of avalanches. When the right conditions (height-snow type, temperature, wind activity, slope and orientation and slope) combine, then avalanches, small or large, are created on all mountains and in some cases can be fatal. In our ski center there is no history of avalanches, nevertheless after very heavy snowfalls analyses of the snow layers (snow-profile) are carried out and avalanche danger bulletins are issued according to the international E.I.DAVOS scale, which should be taken into account by everyone the ski slopes very seriously.

We remind you that off-piste skiing is done solely at your own risk and in case you ignore the warning and prohibition signs, you risk your life and the life of other skiers.

Within the limits of the responsibility of the ski center, any other outdoor sports activity during the winter, which endangers ski slopes and visitors, is prohibited, such as mountain crossing within the pistes, paragliding, mountain biking, four-wheel drive vehicles and ATVs, snowmobiles, snow bikes, etc. Skiing is only permitted with compatible safety equipment (skis, snowboards), while the use of sleds or snowmobiles is only allowed in the permitted area. For obvious reasons to avoid serious accidents, skiing is not allowed for people carrying children in backpacks.

Laying of pistes

Our aim is to always achieve the best possible layout, so that skiing fans can find wide, well-trodden, smooth, solid and safe pistes every day. The daily correct layering creates successive homogeneous, hard layers of snow, giving greater resistance to use and to temperature changes, thus contributing to the enjoyment and safety of the ski slopes and to the extension of the ski season. The paver machines are normally activated after the lifts have been closed and the skiers have evacuated the center, but in the event of continuous snowfall or breakdown or emergency rescue, then the exception is that they can also move within the center’s opening hours. Particular caution is required from climbers or ski-mountaineering users who may attempt to cross the slopes during hours when the center is closed and paver machines are operating.

Ski Pass

The lift pass is non-transferable.
In case of misuse, the lift card will be deactivated without compensation. The value of the card is not refundable in the following cases:

  • Adverse climatic conditions
  • Loss
  • Damage
  • Illness/trauma
